From a small 4 hectare plot with typical deep clay underneath a layer of gravelly soil, this is a classic and top-quality Margaux. With one swirl of the glass, aromas of plum, cassis, tobacco and cocoa are released. The firm structure of this wine is attained by the higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon used in the blend but it becomes rounder after spending a full year in new oak before bottling. At only four years old, the oak is already well-integrated and the tannins are smooth. The velvety texture and lingering dark fruit notes create an overall warming and rich experience.
